Making an impact: Sir Bruce Keogh helps launch first national AHSN report showcasing impact

The South West Academic Health Science Network (SWAHSN) is one of 15 networks established across England in 2013. Together the networks form The AHSN Network which launched its first report at the NHS Confederation Conference in Liverpool on 3 June. The report pulls together the impact made by the networks in their first two years of life.

The AHSN Network also published an NHS Confederation briefing and ran a session called Innovation into Practice: Overcoming the challenges to spreading innovation which was attended by around 70 delegates.

Introducing the session, Adrian Bull, managing director of Imperial College Health Partners (one of the London AHSNs) explained a key goal of the AHSNs, connecting industry and the health and wellbeing system: ‘This isn’t about product placement but about creating a functioning system, responsive to innovation.’
