Have you got an idea that could change the world? Here’s your chance to launch it in 54 hours!

Exeter’s third Startup Weekend will begin at 18:00 on Friday 10 June and conclude on Sunday evening, 12 June, with final presentations and judging.

Exeter has the South West peninsula’s only Startup Weekend with awesome people, great food – #EpicureanEntrepreneurs – and the chance to take ideas through to reality, supported by the University of Exeter, SETsquared and Exeter City Futures.

Startup Weekend is a global phenomenon – the world’s largest network of startups – with, so far, over 23000 teams working on business ideas, in over 150 countries, in nearly 3000 events.

All Startup Weekend events follow the same basic model: anyone is welcome to pitch their startup idea and receive feedback from their peers. Teams form around the top ideas (as determined by popular vote) and embark on a three-day frenzy of business model creation, designing, coding and market validation. The weekend culminates with presentations in front of local entrepreneurial leaders with another opportunity for critical feedback.

You don’t need to be giving up your day job to be an entrepreneur – the skills learnt over the weekend can be applied in many different ways – you’ll be learning how to have fun with others, solving problems and discovering how those solution could become a viable enterprise – for profit or social good. You can even use these skills to solve challenges you fact or to create new solutions in existing businesses.

You can work on any idea at Startup Weekend. Also, for this weekend, we have teamed up with Exeter City Futures to gather and explore ideas that could improve the environment and quality of life in our city. Any city. Let’s see if we can discover solutions to challenges we face and – with the support of Exeter City Futures, the University of Exeter and SETsquared – turn them into businesses!
