Job Opportunity for Chair at South West Clinical Senate
Salary: 2 sessions / 2 PAs per week (0.2 WTE)
The South West Clinical Senate is looking to appoint a Chair to replace their current Chair who is retiring. The post is offered on a 2PAs per week basis or equivalent for those in different contractual arrangements and is open to all clinicians. The appointment will initially be made for a period of one year from the date of appointment with the option to extend.
Established in 2013, the South West Clinical Senate is responsible for providing independent clinical advice to commissioners on all aspects of clinical care and especially on complex pathways delivered across multiple health and social care communities. Following the abolition of the National Clinical Assessment Team (NCAT) in 2014, it now also assumes an important role in providing early clinical input and formal assurance of the clinical components of significant service reconfiguration proposed by Sustainability and Transformation Partnerships prior to public consultation.
The South West Clinical Senate have a strong Council of 40 clinical members and secured engagement from over 200 clinicians across the region through their Assembly as well as a Citizens’ Assembly of national repute. This is an exciting opportunity for real involvement in improving experience and outcomes for patients and will suit a clinician with proven ability as a clinical leader and the enthusiasm to drive change.
