Exciting Opportunities for Patients, Carers, Health Care Professionals and Businesses to Help Shape Future EHealth Developments
As part of the ‘EHealth Productivity and Innovation in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly’ (EPIC) project, people from a range of perspectives are getting involved in exciting events and activities which could genuinely influence the future of EHealth; a critical focus for sustainable Health and Social Care.
EPIC started in May 2017, it is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund and received financial support from the SW AHSN. The project has seven delivery partners including the University of Plymouth, Creative England, the Patients Association, two General Practices – Stennack Surgery and Oak Tree Surgery and two Care Homes – Crossroads House and Eventide.
In September over 200 people will be attending eight workshops across Cornwall that exhibit some of the latest EHealth technologies – from Apps to Virtual Reality to Humanoid Robot (as pictured) – and discuss how they could be used to solve challenges facing health and social care.

On the 6 September the project’s first Business event, delivered in conjunction with Innovate and the Enterprise Europe Network, will explore the opportunities to apply for funding from the £35m Digital Health Technology Catalyst. The event, being held at the Old Bakery Studios in Truro, is a precursor to a specialist webinar series launching on 13 September which will look at the current NHS and Technology landscape and key challenges such as managing patient information. The series of eight webinars will be delivered by a combination of national and local presenters.
