Could you be a HOPE facilitator?
HOPE (Help Overcoming Problems Effectively) is an accredited programme developed by Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust to support people to improve how they manage their health and wellbeing.
Originally developed by Coventry University, HOPE is designed to help local people struggling with long-term health conditions by building their confidence and learning how to better manage their condition(s), including mental health issues such as anxiety, stress and depression. The programme, delivered in a group setting by trained facilitators, encourages participants to focus on themselves as a person, not as a long-term condition, boosting self-confidence and resilience, and helping participants to cope better emotionally, psychologically and practically.
HOPE is looking for facilitators to support the running of the programme, delivered over weekly 2.5 hour sessions over six consecutive weeks.
As a facilitator you would facilitate at least two six-week courses a year, making a difference in your community and gaining experience of working with new people. In return, you will receive a free two-day training course, free assessment, resource pack and expenses, as well as an invitation to an annual facilitators celebration.
If you are interested in becoming a facilitator or would like more information, please email hope.devon@nhs.net.
Upcoming training courses are being run on the following dates:

Exeter – 2 & 3 March
