SW AHSN appoints new Director of Programmes to lead our portfolio of programmes spreading innovative practice

We are delighted to announce Anita Randon as our new Director of Programmes. 

Anita (pictured, right) will join the organisation in October, bringing a track record in spreading innovative practice and delivering sustainable change in health and care systems across the country.  

Anita joins us having been running her own strategy and transformation business for 17 years, supporting organisations and their users as well as coaching individuals and teams to design and deliver ambitious change programmes.

As well as consulting for financial services clients at KPMG, Anita has worked in local government. This includes positions in social services in Berkshire as a strategic planner and then as a director of performance. Anita has also worked for the National Council for Voluntary Organisations in a research and policy role.

Over the last year Anita has been leading the design and delivery of new digitally-enabled models of outpatient care for Surrey Heartlands Health and Care Partnership. One of these collaborative models – designed to drive rapid spread and adoption of virtual consultation platforms and ways of working during COVID-19 – has led to a significant increase in the proportion of Surrey’s patient population choosing to be in contact with their health and care clinician remotely.

Anita will lead our programmes team and its portfolio of programmes focused on spreading innovative practice. Anita’s portfolio will include our three COVID-19 programmes: improving patient safety, supporting digital-first care pathways, and addressing health inequalities to support communities at disproportionate risk from COVID-19. 

For Anita, our partners will be key to delivering broad and sustainable change. 

“Collaborating with local authorities and the wider non-profit community will be critical to addressing the wider determinants of health and maximising the impact from innovative practice across the South West. I’m looking forward to engaging with our partners and wider networks to better understand the local drivers of health inequality.”

Anita will be relocating to the South West to join our team in early October, when she will begin working with our team of programme directors and wider business to develop our portfolio of programmes. 

“The choices and changes we make now will have a long-term impact on population health”, says Anita. “I am really interested in how we can support health and care practitioners to explore different, evidence-based models of care, and to empower our citizens in the management of their own health and wellbeing. There are real opportunities to drive actionable insight from our learning.”
