Success for Innovators at the Health Innovation Programme 2022

Success for Innovators at the Health Innovation Programme 2022

At the end of September, the South West and West of England AHSNs hosted the Health Innovation Programme in collaboration with SETsquared.

The Programme is an intensive personal development course, designed to support health innovators identify the optimum customer base for their business, develop their value proposition and understand how to navigate and sell to the NHS.

Successful applicants were selected to attend a fully-funded workshop spanning across the course of five days.

Hosted online, participants benefitted from the expertise of mentors, who helped innovators to explore and develop their business plans and build a picture of the NHS/UK Health Sector as a marketplace.

The Programme culminated with the opportunity for founders to present their Business Model Canvas to a panel of healthcare experts for valuable feedback.

Claire Denyer, Project Manager at the West of England AHSN, commented:

Seeing course participants learn and grow throughout the week – developing their understanding of the NHS and evolving their value propositions – is very exciting.”

Dr Terry Gorst, Programme Manager (Commercial Lead) at the South West AHSN, said:

It was great to see so many brilliant innovators on the course with ideas and innovations addressing some of the most significant health, care and social needs within our region. The South West AHSN looks forward to further supporting their development and ultimately deployment into our Integrated Care Systems.”

Participant feedback

The programme received some fantastic feedback from participants, including Angie, who said:

Such a fantastic course with the best facilitators, mentors and panellists.”
