How to create culture to deliver excellent maternal and perinatal care
In this South West Patient Safety Network webinar, we will explore how to create a culture of safety where individuals and teams can flourish in the delivery of great maternal and perinatal care.
We will discuss and share learnings and insights to enable you to maximise the effect of interventions on unit safety and lay foundations for a ‘psychologically safe space’ for individuals, based on the cultural elements of the recently published work on the Seven Features of Safety in Maternity Units.
Dr. Matt Hill, Consultant Anaesthetist at University Hospitals Plymouth. He has a fascination with safety culture and how we create and support this in a work setting. Matt is a Clinical Advisor on culture to NHSI Patient Safety Improvement Programmes, a Health Foundation Generation Q Fellow, Honorary Fellow at Plymouth Schools of Medicine and Dentistry for the MSc in Healthcare Improvement & Patient Safety and works with the SW AHSN as a Clinical Associate. Drawing on his vast experience, he will lead this webinar to help educate and share best practice.
The South West Patient Safety Network aims to bring together subject matter experts, leaders, service user representatives and anyone passionate about improving maternal and neonatal outcomes in a collaborative virtual space. We aim to inspire and equip participants working in maternity and neonatal services, to share and learn from QI work, to improve the outcomes for women, babies and their families.
If you have an interest in understanding and developing safety culture and health and quality improvement in pregnancy and the postnatal period, please join us 12pm – 1pm on Monday 2 November.
