Data Visualisation: How to Communicate Effectively with Your Data

Overview

Do you know how to effectively communicate with your data? Do you understand the psychology of how your audience interprets the data that you present to them? Do you know why pie charts are problematic and that you should (almost) never present a chart or graphic in 3D?

Dan Isaac is a data visualisation specialist and trainer working at the University of Exeter.  He runs training workshops that teach the key principles of effective data visualisation and he’d love to help you learn how to communicate more effectively with your data. You can find more information at the content of his course at www.graphicinsight.org/training

The aim of this workshop is to share and discuss the some key principles for effective data visualisation and to inspire you to start to tell better stories with your data. Creating effective data visualisations is no longer a task for highly technical specialists and design professionals. In the modern workplace, we are all responsible for the data that we produce and learning how to effectively communicate with this data can be an invaluable asset.
