Improving Lipid Management: Drop-in information session

An online information session for care teams implementing the new lipid pathway in South West England

Are you a clinician, planner or commissioner working in lipid management in primary care?

Are you seeking to support interventions that reduce the need for cardiovascular disease treatment in secondary care settings?

Are you looking for support to implement the new lipid pathway to improve patient care and outcomes?

Drop-in to our online session for coffee and conversation with South West AHSN Cardiovascular Disease Clinical Programme Lead, Rhiannon Edwards, to explore how we can support you.

  • Tell us about the challenges for your workforce and the support you need
  • Discuss how the South West AHSN can help your team
  • Hear more about current resources and educational programmes to support clinical and patient decision-making

To help the prevention and management of cardiovascular disease (CVD), the South West Academic Health Science Network (South West AHSN) is embarking on a national three-year lipid management programme to support the effective treatment of patients with the right lipid-lowering medication at the right time, and identify patients with, or at risk of, Familial Hypercholesterolaemia (FH) – a major risk factor for CVD.

Recent updates to the lipid management pathway in England have included the introduction of drugs Inclisiran and Bempadoic Acid, both approved by NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence), to give clinicians more opportunity to lower lipid levels in patients.

Our drop-in sessions are an opportunity to explore your need for support in implementing the new lipid pathway, to enable us to refine and tailor our offer to you.

We are hosting two identical sessions; one on Thursday 11 November (11.30am – 1pm) and another on Wednesday 17 November (2-3.30pm). Please note the sessions will not be clinically led.

For more information about the sessions please contact Rhiannon Edwards, South West AHSN Cardiovascular Disease Programme Clinical Lead (rhiannon.edwards@swahsn.com).

Please register your interest in dropping in.
