PROMISE Stakeholder event – Pressure Ulcer Prevention

OVERVIEW

The PROMISE quality improvement project is part of The Health Foundation’s ‘The Scaling Up’ improvement programme which supports select projects to take their proven health care interventions and approaches and make them work at larger scale to have a positive impact on patient outcomes.
This stakeholder event, chaired by the South West Academic Health Science Network, will explore how to transform pressure ulcer prevention and reduction through continuous pressure monitoring.

PROGRAMME

The event will welcome Professor Julian Guest, Health Economist, as keynote speaker. Professor Guest will present a cohort study evaluating pressure ulcer management in clinical practice in the UK following initial presentation in the community: costs and outcomes.

Dr Stephen Duckworth OBE, Trustee of Motability, Leonard Cheshire, RFU Injured Players Foundation, Inspire (Salisbury) and the Global Disability Innovation Hub will also be speaking.

The day will include:

  • Technical demonstrations on using and applying pressure monitoring technology
  • Quality Improvement methodology and workshops and how we can use this to support the implementation of this new way of working.
  • Patient stories on how pressure monitoring has improved their quality of life

We look forward to welcoming staff from across the South West Primary Care Network, clinicians and representatives from equipment providers.
