SIMPL Housing & Homelessness
OVERVIEW
What role can Social Investment play in providing innovative solutions in the area of Housing & Homelessness? What is the current government’s position on this? What are some of the UK’s best practices when it comes to delivering services in this ‘wicked issue’ of Housing & Homelessness? Which investors are keen to collaborate with service providers and commissioners in this area? What about prevention & a shift to a more systems thinking approach?
The SIMPL project team invites you to take part in a day exploring these questions.
PROGRAMME
Nicola Forsdyke will kickstart the day by outlining the government’s position and aspirations in relation to housing and homelessness and their position on social investment.
Then, participants will be able to sign up for 2 of the 4 workshops provided. These interactive workshops are designed to generate discussion and debate and to formulate actions going forward. Topics include Youth Homelessness, Alliance Commissioning, preventative strategies to tackle Homelessness and Housing issues and the role of social investment in these, all from current understanding of the learnings and impact available so far. Workshops are led by experts from different stakeholder groups(commissioners, investors/funders and service providers).
We will be building on the conversations started at SIMPL’s launch last November and intend to have a balance of all stakeholders groups there from Torbay, Plymouth and Exeter. We really hope that you will be able to join us!
