South West Regional Collaborative: Discussion on using FeNO for Asthma Diagnosis

The aim of this event is to explore the benefits and challenges of using FeNO testing within the diagnosis of asthma in primary care settings. During the collaborative we will share learning, best practice, and discuss areas of interest such as barriers, training and misconceptions with discussions covering a spectrum of clinical scenarios. The collaborative welcomes all to take part and is an opportunity to hear from the South West respiratory and clinical leads about their experience and recommendations for implementing FeNO.

For the first collaborative of the new year, we will be joined by Dr. Andrew Whittamore, National Clinical Lead for FeNO and Clinical Lead at Asthma + Lung UK. Andrew will present on his experiences with FeNO at Portsdown Group Practice, as well as exploring accuracy and variations within FeNO readings and the cost effectiveness of FeNO in both diagnosis and monitoring capacities.

For our second presentation, we will be joined by Dr. Kyle Stewart, South West Clinical Lead for FeNO and Bryony Boyce, Practice Nurse Lead, who will talk about their experience of using FeNO at Corner Place Surgery in Devon and present a selection of patient case studies.

There will also be opportunities for Q+A discussions with all of the presenters following the talks.

The event is open to clinicians working in primary care, as well as PCN and ICS leaders, local authorities and anyone else who is interested in learning more about implementing and using FeNO in their service. Secondary care colleagues are also welcome, but please note the focus of the collaborative is primary care.
