About this Event

We are delighted to announce that the first South West Care Homes Network event will take place (virtually) on Tuesday 18 May 2021 and you are all welcome to join us as we share and learn from peers and partners from all over the South West. The event will be held on Microsoft Teams and joining instructions will be circulated in due course with the agenda.

This event will provide a platform for learning and sharing ideas for improving the range of services Care Homes provide. We will aim to bring together Care Home Managers & Staff, leaders, CCGs, local authorities and experts from across the sector to look at improvements and examples of good practice and interventions that will support and develop Care Homes. This event will focus on work taking place in the South West (Devon, Cornwall and Somerset).

The South West Care Home Network event will take place four times a year and will focus on the improvement and safety outcomes of work in Care Homes by promoting collaboration, co-production of new procedures in high quality care in managing deterioration and medicine safety.

Safer Administration of Medicines in Care Homes across the South West

In addition to the SW Care Home Network, we are starting to engage with some local Care Homes around the Safer Administration of Medicines and will be linking in with the work of the Enhanced Health in Care Homes framework locally as it starts to unfold.

The South West Academic Health Sciences Network want to find three Care Homes from each County (Devon, Cornwall, and Somerset) to start to look at trialing some new concepts and interventions going forwards, which may then be able to be shared wider across the South West in the future.
