The South West Regional Collaborative Forum: Implementation of FeNO testing

The event will focus on the interpretation of FeNO, NICE pathways, providing learnings from others using FeNO and how it can be used in the diagnosis of asthma, with discussions covering a spectrum of clinical scenarios.
Leading on from our Regional Collaborative Forum in 2021 we are bringing together healthcare professionals who are currently using FeNO, and are in the process of implementing testing or are interested in or planning to do so into 2022/23.
South West AHSN aim is to share learning, best practice, and discuss areas of interest such as barriers, training and misconceptions. The collaborative welcomes all to take part. This event is an opportunity to hear from South West respiratory leads and clinical champions about their experience and recommendations for implementing FeNO. This forum will provide a collaborative virtual space to ask clinical or practical questions about implementing FeNO and learn from subject matter experts.
What is FeNO?
A Fractional exhaled Nitric Oxide (FeNO) test is a way of measuring the amount of nitric oxide in an exhaled breath. This test can help with the diagnosis of asthma by showing the level of inflammation in the lungs.
What is the FeNO testing project in the South West?
SW AHSN and ICSs are supporting a number of Primary Care Networks (PCNs) across Cornwall, Devon and Somerset to implement FeNO testing and measure impact over the next year.
