Key stakeholders in the South West gather to discuss rheumatology services report findings
On Tuesday 14 June the SW AHSN brought together key stakeholders from within Devon and Cornwall to learn more about the findings from a review of rheumatology services provided by the five trusts in Devon and Cornwall.
In May 2015, the SW AHSN commissioned a review of rheumatology services provided by the five trusts in Devon and Cornwall. The main aims of the review were to get a better understanding of the:
- reason why biologic treatment expenditure continues to increase year on year
- considerable variation in the use of biologic therapies across Devon and Cornwall
- issues being faced by rheumatology services together with
- looking at opportunities for system and process improvement, spread of best practice and innovation
Attendees had an opportunity to share good practice and to start to agree what needs to happen next.
Discussions are currently taking place to identify the next steps.
