Regional Group Meeting for Innovation Leads from South West Trusts Held at SW AHSN Offices
On 21 June Innovation Leads from hospital trusts around the South West were hosted by Health Innovation Support and the South West Academic Health Science Network (SW AHSN) at a Regional Innovation Sharing meeting, the first to take place for over a year.
The Trusts and the SW AHSN work under a regional Non-Disclosure Agreement which means they can share information about their Trust’s new product developments, or innovations, openly with others.
There were 14 innovation leads from six of our member organisations present at the meeting, which was chaired by Dr Alan McLeod, Founder and Director of Health Innovation Support at our SW AHSN offices in Exeter.
The meeting featured discussions about the latest innovations to emerge from the South West Trusts. The meeting also presented an opportunity for the SW AHSN to present its current innovation work programmes, including the NHS Innovation Accelerator and the Innovation and Technology Tariff. The SW AHSN also hopes to support the spread of proven innovations to others in the region and nationally.
Alan McLeod, Managing Director, Health Innovation Support said: “When sharing information about Innovations it important that there is sufficient trust between the individuals and organisations discussing them so it was really great to have so many enthusiastic individuals in the room sharing and working together. We hope that these meetings will provide a safe space to share information and opportunities for spreading innovation.”
