Supporting the implementation and use of Fractional exhaled Nitric Oxide testing in primary care


Increasing uptake of biological therapies for people with asthma


Reducing risk of hospital admissions and inappropriate referrals to secondary care

Detailed Programme Information

The South West AHSN has been transforming asthma care in the South West via two workstreams:

Asthma diagnosis – FeNO testing

Supporting the implementation of Fractional exhaled Nitric Oxide (FeNO) testing in primary care as part of the NHS Accelerated Access Collaborative’s Rapid Uptake Product programme.

Asthma treatment – Biologic therapy

Collaborating with the West of England AHSN, South West Severe Asthma Network and local hospital trusts to improve asthma pathways and enhance access to innovative treatments for adult patients.
